This is a very geeky, smart and funny way to lock your bike. The remote controlled lock hoists your bike up a lamp post until it's unreachable for anyone without the remote control.
This video shows the making of the lock, jump to 1:20 if you just want to see it in action.

Awesome medley on PVC instrument
Kent (snubbyj) made his own PVC instrument and plays a medley of great songs on it.
Be prepared. This is gonna be the best 6 minutes of your day:
Apparently this dude did go on America's Got Talent without making it to the final and he also auditioned for The Blue Man Group without getting in!!! In my opinion he definitely outshines The Blue Man Group on his own.

Floppy Legs - Harddrive that is afraid of liquid
This 3.5" harddrive stands up as soon as it comes in contact with water. The way it moves reminds me of a dog or something, it looks really cute and it's a smart way to protect the harddrive. Designed by Chambers Judd.

In internet-time this documentary is pretty long (24 minutes) but it's time well spent. In 1975 there was a Soapbox Rally in San Francisco where all cars were built by artists.

Scan book while you flip through it
Masatoshi Ishikawa has invented a scanner that scans the pages while you are flipping the pages of a book. The pages are scanned curved and then processed by the computer to make them flat.
This scanner makes it possible to scan a book with 200 pages in less than a minute.

Chat Roulette
Chat Roulette is the latest chat-with-a-stranger-site. What separates it from the thousands of chat-with-a-stranger-sites already out there is that it has webcam support so you can see who you talk to.
Casey Neistat has made a both funny and informative video about the site and what kind of people who use it. Turns out that 71% of the users are guys, 15% girls and 14% perverts.

Flattr - new way to pay and get paid online
Peter Sunde (the co-founder of The Pirate Bay) and Linus Olsson just created a new micro-payment service called Flattr. The word is a combination of "flatter" and "flat-rate" and the idea is that creators can place flattr-buttons along their content and the viewers can click them if they like the content. The users pay a monthly fee and in the end of the month their money will be divided among the creators they've flattr'ed.
This video explains it pretty good:
The project is still in beta but you can request an invite.

Cipher Glasses
Those drinking glasses are designed by serbian designer Damjan Stankovic. When empty they show a mosaic that seems to be random. But when you fill it with a drink the name of that drink will appear.
Damjan Stankovic is a genius! Unfortunately this is just a concept at the moment but I will buy them as soon as they're out.
Visit Damjan Stankovic's site
Differently colored shapes are scattered across the glass surface in a seemingly random pattern, however their position is hardly accidental. The true purpose of the glass mosaic is revealed when colored liquid is poured into it (orange juice, milk, Nescafe or coke) The pattern of shapes and empty spaces on the glass combined with the color of the liquid inside the glass end up forming a textual sign, revealing what exact drink or refreshment you are having, with each side of the glass reserved for a specific drink.
